In accordance with ADAS and AS/NZS2299.1:2007;
• Age,
character and experience of applicant to establish sufficient
maturity to undertake responsibilities
(approximately 21 years but assessed on an individual basis
through referee's report).
• Diving
experience of 100 dives and minimum bottom time of 100 hours
at the required level (except for Part
3 where the applicant must have 100 hours at Part 2 level and
30 hours at deeper than 30 metres, including
SurDO2).
• Minimum
surface support experience of 100 hours (tending, compressor
operation and maintenance, log keeping,
standby diver, panel operation, air testing, etc.).
Claims to such experience must be supported with a portfolio
of certified and/or formally logged supporting evidence. In
addition the diver must hold a:
• Valid
certificate of medical fitness to dive.
• Recognised
certificate of diving competence (e.g. AS2815.2).
• Certificate
of senior first aid.
The course covers activities and competencies required for the
training and accreditation of dive supervisors who are required
to supervise diving work safely and competently using either
scuba to 30 metres, or surface supplied breathing equipment
to depths of 50 metres, in accordance with AS/NZS2299.1:2007.
It is designed to meet the requirements of the ADAS onshore
dive supervisor qualification and is part of the training process
for gaining offshore supervisor status under the PSLA (Diving
Safety) Regulations 2002.
The training and assessment course concentrates on revising
the theory, background knowledge and practical skills of on-site
diving supervision. It pays special attention to the fundamental
responsibilities of a supervisor under Australian OH&S law,
particularly hazard identification and risk assessment, and
the management of diving emergencies.

Part 1, 2 or 3 – Diving Supervisor (as appropriate).
