The "Introduction to Offshore Diving"
has been designed as a brief familiar-ization course, to introduce
engineers and other interested professionals to offshore diving
operations.

The course has been designed to allow those
participants with recreational diving qualifications to undertake
dives in a decompression chamber and on surface supplied equipment
(in both the pool and ocean). Each student who wishes to dive
will be required to meet the following prerequisites prior to
diving on the course:
• PADI
Open Water Diver or approved equivalent.
• 18
years of age.
• Medically
in date.
Diving participants will be required to complete:
• PADI
Medical Statement.
• TUCF
Statement of Understanding.
Medical forms and TUCF Statements of Understanding will be provided
on the first morning of the course.
Non-divers can experience surface supplied equipment in the
pool. However, they will be required to complete a Medical Statement,
and Statement of Understanding.
To introduce engineers and other interested
professionals to offshore diving operations. The program is
not a certification course and does not imply or provide accreditation
as a commercial diver.
The objectives of the course are as follows:
• To
introduce the various codes, standards and regulations relevant
to diving and ROV operations offshore.
• To
introduce different diving techniques and illustrate the abilities/limitations
for each.
• To
display typical diving and ROV equipment to ensure familiarity.
The course is to be completed via the delivery of a two (2)
day program and will be conducted at the TUCF training facilities
in North Fremantle and at Covus Corporation’s headquarters
in Kewdale.
