TUCF will be exhibiting at the North West Expo, to be held at Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre on 3 and 4 May 2008. The Expo highlights the North West region's unique mix of economic and lifestyle opportunities, as well as providing education and employment information to young adults in the region. TUCF will be promoting our occupational diving courses, with a particular focus on local pearl divers. Perth-based Managing Director Ian Milliner, General Manager Diving Paul Masters and Training Administrator Nicole Gallop will be in Broome to discuss training options and career paths. Broome staff Louise Mullin and Isabel Mulheron will be at the Expo to represent TUCF's marine logistics activities in the Kimberley region.

A number of staff changes have occurred at TUCF in recent months. Paul Masters has returned to TUCF after three years working as an offshore saturation diver and supervisor in Houston, Texas. He is now the General Manager Diving at TUCF, responsible for the commercial diving sector of the company, including everyday operations and long-term management of the training school. We have said goodbye to Shelley Burton and wish her luck for the future. Natalie Paulus is now Admin Manager and Sergey Usol’tsev is Accounts Manager. Tess Harry has returned from travelling to provide administrative support in the Fremantle office. Kathryn Allen joins her in Rous Head. Josh Knox, a former student, has joined the school in an instructional capacity on a casual basis between diving jobs. Congratulations to Par Andersson on his position as Medic. It is goodbye and good luck to marine crew Glenn Campbell, Robert Kennedy, Danny Deacon, Carlie Sinclair, Kate Moffat and Bolinda Green. While many have encountered Isabel Mulheron in the Broome office or on the phone, we haven’t officially welcomed her to TUCF since she commenced employment in December last year. The same goes for James “Jim” Wolfe who started at TUCF in November 2007 as a Senior Instructor at the dive school. He and his family have recently relocated from the UK. Welcome aboard to all newcomers!
TUCF is launching its “Apply the TEST” safety initiative today. TEST is an acronym for TUCF’s Essential Safety Tools, a set of eight safety requirements. Every job, activity or task must satisfy the safety requirement before it can proceed, and more than one TEST may apply. Mr Hill declared TUCF’s Safety Goal for the year is zero accidents and incidents. Every TUCF staff member must familiarise themselves with the fundamental principles of TEST in order to recognise when it applies to your operation. Please look out for the posters at every TUCF worksite and remember to always apply the TEST. Read more here

TUCF General Manager Marine, Craig Maddison, indicated that he is looking forward to a continued relationship between Woodside and TUCF.
MV Business Class was chartered to Woodside by TUCF on 26 October to standby and carry out personnel basket trials at the Nanhai VI drilling rig off Exmouth, Western Australia. Despite inclement weather and rough seas, the trial was successfully completed today. The vessel reportedly held station under the rig's crane for three minutes while the crane driver held the personnel basket steady on deck. The accomplishment was filmed by both parties. Master of Business Class, Grant Farris, praised the performance of the vessel and crew.
This is TUF's first contract with Woodside, a major Australian company.
TUCF General Manager Marine, Craig Maddison, said the award of the
contract is an important step forward in recognition of TUCF's safety
management systems.” |
