Dusty was a founding director of Contract
Diving Services, one of Australia’s foremost commercial
diving companies.
His experience as a naval clearance
diver over seven years, plus his extensive involvement in the
offshore and onshore diving industry over the last three decades,
make Dusty one of the most experienced diving operations managers
in the industry. Dusty has been involved in the commercial diving
industry since his honourable discharge from the Royal Australian
Navy in 1973.
After his initial move to Western Australia, he was eagerly sought
after by diving companies in Bass Strait and was involved in lay barges,
ABS surveys, salvage operations, etc. Later he became involved in
the early development of the offshore oil industry in Western Australia
and was involved with deep saturation diving on various drilling vessels.
Dusty is one of the most competent diving supervisors and managers
in Australia and is highly respected throughout the industry. He was
instrumental in the introduction into the RAN of the remotely operated
rescue vehicle (RORV) known as Remora.
Dusty is currently General Manager Operations Support Services for
TUCF. He is also an active serving member of the Australian
Army Reserve, holding the rank of Captain.
