The Underwater Centre Fremantle (TUCF) is a
four-way partnership between Perth Diving
Academy Pty Ltd (PDA), Mr Colin
Murphy, Mr Dusty Miller and
Mr Ian Milliner. Perth Diving
Academy offer over twenty seven years of diver training excellence
throughout Western Australia. Colin and Dusty were the founders
and operators of Contract Diving Services, one of Australia's
largest and most successful diving contractors. Ian Milliner
comes to the company with eighteen years naval diving experience
and eight years as the National Manager of the National Association
of Scuba Diving Schools (NASDS).
The company was originally formed as a consortium with the owners
and operators of The Underwater Centre Fort William (Scotland)
and The Underwater Centre Tasmania. The opportunity to freely
exchange information, training programs and techniques, instructional
expertise and experience with these schools provided The Underwater
Centre Fremantle with an excellent base from which to build
a first class occupational diving school in Fremantle. In September
1997, The Underwater Centre Fremantle Pty Ltd severed its formal
ties with Tasmania and Fort William and now trades in its own
right.
The Underwater Centre Fremantle is accredited under the Commonwealth
Governments "Australian
Diver Accreditation Scheme" (ADAS Number 008) and as
a "PADI
5 Star Dive Centre" (PADI Number S8387). TUCF was last
audited by the Commonwealth in May 2005. TUCF is also a member
of IMCA.
Located in the heart of the Port of Fremantle at Rous Head (Fremantle,
Western Australia), The Underwater Centre Fremantle’s
(TUCF) objective is to provide a wide range of occupational
diver training and certification.
TUCF is co-located in purpose built diver training
facilities, which include
• Modern
air-conditioned classrooms,
• Workshops,
• Shallow
water training area, with
• Specially
designed work tasks,
all are adjacent to office facilities at Rous Head Harbour.
Other training areas include the Swan River , Port of Fremantle
, Cockburn Sound, Rottnest Island , and deep diving sites at
Lake Stockton (Collie) approximately three hours south west

in Fremantle. This gives TUCF unsurpassed access to current
industry trends, direction on industry training requirements,
as well as access to the key employers for our divers on completion
of their course.
