The Underwater Centre Fremantle offers a full
range of commercial diving courses. These courses cover all industry
sectors including aquaculture (abolone, pearl, salmon, tuna etc),
scientific and commercial construction.
The occupational scuba diving qualification to 30 metres is the first
level of accreditation as a commercial diver and is ideally suited
to marine archaeologists, research divers, media, aquaculture divers
and inspection engineers.
This is a progressive step from Part 1 and includes the use of surface
supported breathing apparatus (SSBA) and all underwater tools.
This is next step and includes the use of SSBA to 50 metres
which significantly increases the divers ability to operate under
working situations. It also includes work related subjects to meet
offshore diving industry requirements.
For commercial divers with experience aiming to step up to the next
level.
This is a progressive step from Part 1 and includes the use of surface
supported breathing apparatus but does not include the use of underwater
tools.
Recognition of Formal Training (RFT) and Recognition of Prior Learning,
are avenues to Australian Diver Accreditation Scheme (ADAS) certification
for those divers applying for recognition, based on previous experience
and or formal occupation diver training.
