Coffey wins ACEA Gold Merit Award

11 Decmber 2008

TUCF congratulates Coffey Geotechnics, Coffey Environments and the    project owner INPEX Browse Limited for winning a prestigious Gold Merit    Award at this year’s Association of Consulting Engineers Australia (ACEA)    awards night.

The award in the category of Specialist Services recognized the significant drilling, logistics and environmental challenges of the Ichthys Gas Field Development – LNG Plant project.

ACEA Judge’s commented on the major environmental, OHS and logistics innovations that maximized safety and minimized environmental impact whilst over coming major challenges of substantial tidal ranges and a lack of available fresh water in the remote region.

On the night, standards of competition were high. Project of the Year was taken out by Arup, engineers of China’s National Aquatics Centre, The Water Cube.

TUCF thanks Coffey for the glass medallion we received for our contribution in attaining this award. The services TUCF provided during this operation included helicopter slinging, marine & medic crewing, transport of personnel and materials to and from drill site locations and the final clean up of the site.

This Gold Merit Award compliments the Australian Petroleum Production & Exploration Association Environmental Award INPEX received earlier in 2008.
