The air diving to 50 metres course is next step in the ADAS system and includes the use of SSBA to 50 metres. This significantly increases the divers ability to operate under working situations.

 Course Details

Deposit - A deposit of AUD$650.00 is required to confirm a position on this course.

•  Inclusions - Price includes text books, all diving equipment for the duration     of the course, and all certification fees (ADAS fees are AUD$300.00).

 Selection Criteria

In accordance with AS2815.3 and AS/NZS2299.1:2007;

•  Hold a valid certificate of medical fitness to dive.

•  Hold a recognised certificate of diving competence (i.e. AS2815.2).

•  Hold a certificate of senior first aid.

 Course Synopsis

The offshore commercial air diver qualification (AS2815.3) is the most advanced of the commercial air diving qualifications and enables the diver to work in the offshore diving industry to a maximum of 50 metres using all underwater tools, air breathing apparatus and techniques including the use of wet bells, surface decompression with oxygen and compression chambers.

 Course Overview

The offshore commercial air diving qualification to 50 metres is a progressive step from AS2815.2 and includes the use of surface supported breathing apparatus and significantly increases the divers ability to operate under working situations. It includes the use of wet bells, deck decompression chambers and other work related subjects to meet offshore diving industry requirements.

Course Standards

The course meets the requirements of:


•  ADAS Part 3 - Air Diving.

•  ADAS Chamber Operator.

•  AS2815.3 - Air Diving to 50 metres.

•  HSE Part 1 - Air Diving to 50 metres.

•  Certificate III in Occupational Diving (Advanced Underwater Work to 50 metres).     National Qualification Code 80435ACT.

 Subjects Covered

Physics of diving, inspection and maintenance of personal equipment, pre and post dive checks, hazards, application of decompression tables, diving attendant duties, standby divers duties, surface team member duties, seamanship, small boat handling, hand and voice communication, underwater work, compressed air supply, diving panels, gas cylinder filling, safety precautions, compression chambers, principals of closed and semi closed circuit breathing apparatus, use surface decompression, operation of surface supply panel, preparation of two compartment compression chamber, operation of a compression chamber, wet bell, hot water suits, diving medicine, understanding of therapeutic decompression tables, physiology, first aid, AS/NZS2299.1:2007, legislation and guidance.
