ADAS Part 2    

The air diving to 30 metres course is a progressive step from ADAS Part 1 and includes the use of surface supported breathing apparatus (SSBA) and all underwater tools.

 Course Details

•  Duration - 4 weeks

•  Minimum Number - 5

•  Maximum Number - 12

•  Price - AUD$6,250.00

Deposit - A deposit of AUD$625.00 is required to confirm a position on this course.

•  Inclusions - Price includes text books, all diving equipment for the duration     of the course, two nights meals and accommodation (Collie), and all     certification fees (ADAS fees are AUD$300.00).

 Selection Criteria

In accordance with AS2815.2 and AS/NZS2299.1:2007;

•  Hold a valid certificate of medical fitness to dive.

•  Hold a recognised certificate of diving competence (i.e. AS2815.1).

•  Hold a certificate of senior first aid.

 Course Synopsis

The course covers activities and competencies required for the training and accreditation of divers who are required to work safely and competently using surface supplied breathing equipment to depths of 30 metres in accordance with AS/NZS2299.1:2007.

 Course Overview

The onshore commercial air diving qualification to 30 metres is a progressive step from AS2815.1 (Occupational Scuba Diver) and includes the use of surface supported breathing apparatus. This significantly increases the divers ability to operate under working situations. It includes the use of welding and cutting equipment, pneumatic and hydraulic tools, salvage equipment, air and water dredging equipment, construction tools and other work related subjects to meet onshore diving industry requirements.

 Course Standards

The course meets the requirements of:


•  ADAS Part 2 - Air Diving.

•  AS2815.2 - Air Diving to 30 metres.

•  HSE Part III - Air Diving to 30 metres.

•  Certificate III in Occupational Diving (Advanced Underwater Work to 30 metres).     National Qualification Code 80433ACT.

 Subjects Covered

Physics of diving, inspection and maintenance of personal equipment, pre and post dive checks, open water dives in SCUBA and SSBA equipment, diving hazards, application of decompression tables, diving attendant duties, standby divers duties, surface team member duties, seamanship, small boat handling, hand and voice communication, underwater work including lifting, search schemes, inspection and measurement techniques, underwater surveys, hand tools, power tools, explosive powered tools, hydraulic tools, waterjet and airlift, thermal cutting techniques, underwater welding, maintenance of underwater tools, explosives use underwater, compressed air supply, diving panels, gas cylinder filling, safety precautions, compression chambers, chamber dive, understanding of therapeutic decompression tables, physiology, first aid, AS/NZS2299.1:2007, legislation and guidance.
